Learn how to integrate existing .NET applications into umbraco and how to customize umbraco using Microsoft Visual Studio. This two-day course will cover the usage of the APIs you can leverage as a.net developer, using Hive for data storage, Relations API, and razor for rendering content.

We will also dive into how umbraco uses standard MVC technologies, and how you can use these to build powerfull websites on Asp.net MVC 3

Prerequisites

For all our courses we require attendees to bring their own laptop, running windows as well as a fully configured Umbraco installation, if you own a Mac, you can either run windows via bootcamp or run it as a virtual machine with VMWare

For level 1 attendees

  • Make sure you have IIS or webmatrix installed, and you can run umbraco locally
  • Make sure the latest .net framework is installed
  • Microsoft Web Platform installer can help you out

For level 2 attendees

  • We require you have either Visual Studio 2010 or 2008 installed
  • That you have Microsoft SQL server installed + SQL Management Studio
  • That you have a blank umbraco installation ready for the course
